Waste Collection Update
Coolamon Shire Council has recently commenced a new kerbside waste collection contract. For residents living in the Coolamon local government area, this may mean a change in the collection day for their kerbside general waste, recycling and organics bins.
The changes are set to take effect from Monday 27th June. For residents in Ganmain and Marrar, the new collection day is Monday (Recycling Week A). For residents in Ardlethan, Beckom and Matong the new collection day is Thursday (Recycling Week B) and for Coolamon South the new collection day is Friday (Recycling Week B). For Coolamon North residents, there has been no change to the collection day remaining on a Tuesday (Recycling Week A).
General waste bins will still be collected on a weekly basis, and recycling bins, on a fortnightly basis. For residents in Coolamon and Ganmain, the organics (food and garden waste) bin will be collected fortnightly, on the alternate week to the recycling bin. Residents are reminded to place their bins out at the kerbside the evening before their collection days.
The new collection schedule has provided the contractor, JR Richards & Sons, with the opportunity to review the previous collection routes and make changes to improve servicing efficiencies.
Coolamon Shire residents will receive a letter along with a new collection calendar that details the service day changes and identifies the recycling bin collection weeks. Residents are asked to please continue to put bins out for collection as normal up until the commencement of the new collection services schedule. The changes to the service days will only take effect from Monday 27th June onwards.
Residents can also check their bin day by referring to the Council website: https://coolamon.nsw.gov.au/waste-recycling or by contacting Council on 6930 1800.
