Annual Salary:  $73,346 to $100,686 depending on experience

Coolamon Shire Council is currently seeking suitably qualified Registered Nurses to work at our Aged Care Residential facility – Allawah Lodge.

This position is a full time role, working a minimum of 38 hours per week.  Our team at Allawah Lodge work on a rotating roster over a period of 7 days per week, 24 hours per day and is covered by the Nurses’(Local Government) Residential Aged Care Consolidated (State) Award 2021.

Allawah Lodge is a 33 bed facility situated in the heart of the Coolamon health care precinct. The aim of the staff, committee and volunteers is to ensure every resident may reside in a safe home-like environment, where their dignity and privacy is respected, whilst maintaining individual physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs with appropriate assistance.

Coolamon is a charming country town located in NSW’s Riverina region, rich with beautiful heritage buildings, museums, pubs, local produce, gorgeous heritage streetscapes, boutique shopping and quaint, quirky cafes.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE

The successful applicant’s tasks will include;

·         Provide high quality nursing care to patients that is consistent with their individual care needs

·         Work closely with all staff to ensure that effective outcomes are achieved for each resident

·         Assess, plan and evaluate individualized resident care

·         Administer treatments and medications for residents and monitor their responses

·         Maintain clinical documentation for residents

·         Provide safe and effective medication administration

·         Provide effective wound care management

·         Plan and organize work activities and supervise staff

·         Provide instruction and training to Care Staff

·         Identify staff that require professional development

·         Meet legislative & regulatory requirements

·         Communicate appropriately with Doctors and Pharmacists

The annual salary range for this role will be dependent on years of service as a Registered Nurse and ranges from $73,346 to $100,686 plus appropriate shift allowances and overtime worked.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

To succeed in this role you will need to:

·         Have genuine empathy for elderly and disabled people, an understanding of the ageing process and caring for individuals living with dementia

·         Have the presence of mind to react in an emergency situation and follow emergency procedures

Qualifications and Experience Required for the Position:

  • Bachelor of Nursing

  • Current AHPRA Registration

  • At least 2 years’ experience working as an RN

  • Class C Drivers Licence

  • Valid National Police Clearance

  • COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate

  • Current Influenza Vaccination Certificate

  • Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain
