Draft Coolamon Shire 2040 Plan on Public Exhibition

The draft Coolamon Shire 2040 Community Strategic Plan, is now on public exhibition until 21 May 2025.

Endorsed for public consultation at the April Council meeting, the draft plan outlines a long-term vision for the future of Coolamon Shire, shaped through community consultation in 2022, 2024 and 2025.

Mayor of Coolamon Shire, Cr David McCann OAM, said the draft is a reflection of the community’s collective voice.

“This plan has been built on what we heard from our residents. It captures the hopes and priorities, and sets out a clear path for where we want our Shire to be in 2040,” Mayor McCann said.

“We are proud to present this draft and encourage everyone to take a look and have their say. Community feedback is vital in finalising a plan that truly represents us all.”

The plan is structured around four key themes that express the community’s vision for the future – outlining what residents want Coolamon Shire to look and feel like. Each theme includes specific outcomes, strategies and practical ideas for how residents, businesses and Council can work together to bring the vision to life.

The draft plan is available for review on Council’s website and printed copies can be viewed at Coolamon Shire Council Office and Coolamon Shire Library. Submissions are welcome throughout the 28-day public exhibition period, which runs from 23 April to 21 May 2025.

  • By mail: General Manager, Coolamon Shire Council, 55 Cowabbie Street, Coolamon NSW 2701 (or PO Box 101)
