EARLY CHILDHOOD TEACHER

Coolamon Early Childhood Centre is a 47-place centre offering care and early education to children aged 0-5 years. The Centre’s operation hours are 7.00am-6.00pm, Monday-Friday. The Centre has open plan indoor learning spaces and a large, spacious outdoor playground.

Our Centre educators pride themselves on providing quality education and care for young children in a safe environment that is inclusive of children and family input. We advocate that through supporting and valuing our team members, educators are able to provide early year’s education and care based on the principles and practices outlined in the Early Years Learning Framework.

We are currently seeking an experienced Early Childhood Teacher to lead our Pre-school program for children aged 3-5 years. The Pre-school Room provides a learning program for up to 20 children each day. The program focuses on school readiness, with priority of placements being allocated to children in their final year before starting primary school.  The Early Childhood Teacher is supported by experienced assistants who have consistently worked with the current group of children.

The position is full time (35 hours per week), Monday to Friday with a RDO (Rostered Day Off) available every three weeks as part of the roster.  The Centre offers a supportive and friendly team environment, has digital programming software and closes down for two weeks over the Christmas-New Year period each year.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field

  • Registered or eligible for registration as an Early Childhood Teacher with the Australian Children's Education & Care Quality Authority (ACECQA)

  • Minimum 2 years' experience working in a similar early childhood setting

  • Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate teaching practices

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues

  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and a collaborative approach to practice
