Community Projects Completed Through Round One of the Ardlethan Tin Mine Fund

Five local projects have been successfully completed through Round One of the Ardlethan Tin Mine Fund, with $20,000 invested into community initiatives.

The funding has helped bring community-led projects to life, supporting local groups to improve facilities and enhance spaces for residents and visitors.

The fund is made possible through the Voluntary Planning Agreement (VPA) between Australian Tin Resources’ Ardlethan Tin Mine and Coolamon Shire Council, providing funding for projects that deliver benefits to the local community.

Coolamon Shire Mayor David McCann OAM said the agreement demonstrates the value of collaboration between Council and the Ardlethan Tin Mine.

"The agreement shows a strong and collaborative relationship between Council and the Ardlethan Tin Mine, delivering benefits for the Coolamon Shire community, with a particular focus on the Ardlethan and Beckom communities. We value the positive way the mine works with Council to ensure the community shares in the benefits of mining"  Mayor McCann said.

Projects funded through Round One included:

  • A new hanging system for the Ardlethan Memorial Hall

  • Fencing and display cabinet repair at the Ardlethan Museum

  • A water tank for the Ardlethan Beckom Cricket Club

  • A contribution towards the Ardlethan ANZAC Memorial Statue

  • Ground renewal works at the Ardlethan Recreation Ground

Director of Ardlethan Tin Mine, Bill Lannen, said the fund is helping local community groups turn great ideas into reality.

"This funding brings project ideas to life and helps support the community groups who work hard to strengthen our communities," Mr Lannen said.

With Round One projects now complete, successful applicants for Round Two are set to be announced soon.

The Ardlethan Tin Mine Fund will continue into Round Three, with applications to open early 2027.
