NAIDOC WEEK
Coolamon Shire will be celebrating NAIDOC Week from the 5th-12th July with a series of events recognising the history, culture, resilience & achievements of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Peoples.
We’re excited to welcome back Tanieka from Yaali & Co who will be running a Yarning Stick workshop for young people. Ashleigh from Little Black Duck will also be hosting a candle making workshop using native ingredients. Coolamon Shire Library will also have a book display with First Nations authors for people to borrow.
We’ll also have local artist Rob Clark running a dot painting workshop, using stencils and stories to create your own work of art. Rob will also have his own art exhibition in the Coolamon Up-To-Date Store from the 3rd July – 26th July, where you can come along to view Rob’s art and see his stories and culture throughout his work.
