Coolamon Shire Council Seeks Feedback on Community Strategic Plan

Coolamon Shire Council is inviting community members to have their say on the review of the ‘Coolamon Shire 2040’ Community Strategic Plan. This plan, originally developed in 2022 after extensive community consultation, represents the shared vision for the future of the Shire and provides Council with clear objectives to achieve that vision.

Mayor David McCann emphasized the importance of community participation in this review process: “Coolamon Shire 2040 is a plan created by the community, for the community. While this review is not as extensive as the initial consultation three years ago in 2022, it is a crucial step in ensuring we remain on track and continue capturing the aspirations and needs of our residents. We encourage everyone to take this opportunity to share their thoughts, new ideas, and any challenges they see for the future.”

The consultation period will run for four weeks from 17 February to 14 March, and Council is providing multiple ways for residents to engage and provide feedback:

  • Online Feedback Form – Available below (Closes 14 March 2025)

  • Council on the Road – Meet with Council staff in person:

    • 28 February in Ganmain at the Rural Transaction Centre (9:30am – 11:30am)

    • 13 March in Ardlethan at Ariah 62 Cafe (9:30am – 11:30am)

  • Drop into the Coolamon Shire Library – Chat with Council staff or complete a hardcopy of the feedback form in person.

  • Meetings with Advance Committees

    • Marrar - 17 February 6pm at Marrar Hall

    • Ardlethan - 3 March 7pm at Ardlethan Hall

    • Ganmain - 5 March 7:30pm at Ganmain Hall

    • Coolamon - 6 March 7:30pm at Coolamon Sport & Recreation Club

    • Matong - 10 March 7pm at Matong Hall

Council encourages all members of the Shire to read the Coolamon Shire 2040 plan and provide input to help shape the future direction of our community.
